Ink.

I have noticed that a lot of people (including all footballers) have tattoos these days. I personally dont have a particular general opinion about whether I like tattoos or not. On some people I think 'yeah that's a great tattoo, well done'; on others, not so much.
I have considered on occasion whether or not I should get some 'ink'. I thought that I would end up getting one while I was travelling. You know, the perfect opportunity to do something a bit rebellious while on the other side of the world. Sadly I never bumped into that magical maori man with his bamboo needle at the ready - bit annoyed to be honest, thought it was a dead cert.

I am of the opinion though that you should get something that means something to you..or at least looks a little bit cool. I heard lady sovereign on the radio the other day had got 11:11 tattooed on her, because she apparently wakes up and sees that time a lot - now if that's not a good enough reason, then I just don't know what is.

In light of this little debate, I have come across the tattoo which I think could be the one for me..the start of my relationship with freedom of expression and vaseline. Hope you like it.

One word. Shearer.

Finally the brains behind Newcastle United realised that you can't really do anything in the premiership when your manager's heart isn't strong enough to take him to the toilet and back, let alone prevent us from relegation. Gloriously they have appointed the man himself to take over till the end of the season and given us some hope of avoiding the reality we deserve after years of poor football, and allow us to continue the fantasy that we shoudl be a top 6 club.

If nothing else, Shearer's appointment gives me the chance reminisce about the glory days of Shearer, Ferdinand, Ginola and among others, the ultimate goalkeeper, Pavel Srnicek.

I tried to add a Shearer video that was hilariously, but somewhat appropriately set to R. Kelly's 'The world's Greatest', but the quality wasn't that good. This one will suffice.
